Pupdate!

Alright I promised updated puppy pictures to many people so here you go.  They are getting huge and most of them gained over 1 pound in the last 3 days.  I can't believe how big they are getting.  See for yourselves.

Did I mention how much this guy loves his dog?

We had to bottle feed 3 of the puppies because Mommy did not produce enough milk.

Mommy looks much better!

They are all little ankle biters.  Eli is getting his toes nibbled too.

Elly Mae sleeps a lot.  I guess you need a lot of rest when you are growing so much.  She is the biggest of the pack.

They are a ton of fun and a ton of work.  I can't wait until their new parents are here next week to come and get them.  I wish them all the best.

New Plan for the Present

As our adoption process is slowly moving I want to focus a great deal of time and energy on the amazing children that God has given me.  So the plan for this blog, until we move further along in this adoption, is to use this blog to tell you about the amazing times we have.  I already told you about camping at the 300 year old fortress and the puppies.  I wanted to say that we have an amazing island family.  In the midst of not being near our families we sometimes get a little sad.  But, we have island family that are amazing and some of the greatest people I have ever met.  For them I am truly grateful.  God has sent us some amazing friends.  Today we spent the vast majority of the day with "Aunt" Loren at the pool having a great time.

We had a splash contest, she taught us the colors game, we went round and round the whirlpool, she and I got to play the trusty steeds for the jousting knights and my tiny Gabe swam completely unassisted between the three of us so many times I got tired.  I love having island family that will do what we love with us and loves our kids.  Since we do almost everything with them it is very important to have friends who like them.  We are so grateful.

We also got invited to watch the meteor shower at Banana Bay the other night.  We had a great time on the beach with 3 other families and tried to see the meteors but the moon was far too bright to see the meteor shower.  The men all hunted down fire wood and we had a great bonfire where we roasted marshmallows and ate smores.  Since I know you all only look at my blog to see all the great pictures of my kids I will post a few more right now.

Roasting marshmallows. I spent 10 minutes roasting Gabe's and he took one tiny bite and was finished. Nice one.

Eli wanted to collect things to burn all night long.

A man and his fire!

Yep he did it!

One bite of smore and there is chocolate everywhere.

Enjoying the fire.

If you look closely there is a beautiful butterfly in this picture.

Swinging on the vines at the old sugar mill.

Trying calamari for the first time.

Calamari is yummy!

We had such a fun day on the island.  Thanks for reading.  God Bless.  ~Missy

Puppies, Puppies, and More Puppies

Oh goodness!!!!  We took in a foster dog a couple of months ago and found out that she was going to have puppies.  So we got ready for the arrival.  She was severely underweight when we took her in so we were worried about her but we also thought there was only going to be 3ish puppies.  At 2 in the morning on March 20th the foster dog woke us up and began having puppies.  By the time we left for work/ school there were 6 puppies.  Wow!  When we got home there were 7 puppies. We spent several weeks in puppy bliss where their mommy was taking great care of them.  Then about 2 weeks ago she decided she was done taking care of them so we got to bottle feed them and begin feeding them solid food.  Now we are in puppy craziness.  They are mastiff mixes that we call "coconut mastiffs" and they are growing fast.  But, they are a TON of work too.  I have never spent so much time cleaning up after creatures in my life.  They are a huge mess and they have really sharp little teeth.  So anyway, I am glad they are doing well and that they all have adoptive homes they will go to in about a week.  I will try and post some photos of the utter adorability.
This is Maggie who was found by a vet student and a vet on island.
